Part 1. How to Use Kinemaster on iPhone / Android
The first step is to understand the KineMaster interface. Fortunately, the app is very similar in both forums so the steps are almost the same but with very little difference. Let's look at the basic structure and how to perform various tasks such as trim, split, add text, reduce video, add audio, add effects / filters, and other basic functions.
The welcome page is very similar to a social media video platform like TikTok. You will see a large circular button in the middle to download media files to your device and create a new project. Preparing Video to be edited in KineMaster
The first step in editing a video is very simple, as shown below:
Step 1: Click the + sign on the welcome page to start a new project.

Step 2: Select the aspect ratio of your video; However, note that selecting uncommon values such as 4: 5, 3: 4, etc. it may remove certain filters and effects automatically. The best option would be standard (9:16), horizontal (16: 9), or square (1: 1), all of which are widely supported on most video platforms.
Step 3: Tap the Media option to import your media files. Since KineMaster does not have a dedicated Media Library, it simply connects to your local device's memory and connected cloud storage services. Select the appropriate location and press the video file to import it.
Your video is now ready for editing.
How to Cut or Divide Video in KineMaster
Step 1: Tap the timeline to select the main song, which is your video track. You will see a yellow border appear around it.
Step 2: Over the timeline, to the right of the preview area, you will see various options such as Decide to Right or Decide to the Left of a Play Title, Split on Playhead, and Split and Insert Freeze Frame. Select the option you want.
Step 3: Once you have selected an option, you will see the Media Panel instead of the options. Here, you can hit Play to preview the latest edits. You can also zoom in using the left round arrow on the left sidebar panel.
How to add a change to KineMaster
Assuming you have multiple (or at least two) clips in your video timeline, here's how to add a change.
Step 1: Look at the + sign at the intersection of the two clips and press that. Now you will see the changes available at the top right.
Step 2: Scroll to the desired version and tap it. You will see another panel appear with additional granular settings related to that change option you have selected.
Step 3: If you need to preview the change, submit the play title just before you and click the Play button.

How to add text to a video in KineMaster
To add text, effects, sound, etc., you will need to move the play title to the area where you want to insert the feature in question.
Step 1: In the Media Panel, tap Layout segment on the left.
Step 2: Select the T-icon, representing Text.
Step 3: Type your text in the space provided and tap OK when done.
Step 4: You can now resize or resize text by long pressing and moving it or by dragging corner handles.
Step 5: Once the text is selected, you will see options such as fonts, animation, etc. This is where you can choose your favorite font and animate text. Tap the white circular mark on the top right when you're done.
How to Add Background Music to KineMaster
After setting the play title in the area, press the audio option in the Media Panel and proceed with the steps below:
Step 1: Select the type of sound you want to use: Music, SFX, Recordings, or Songs.
Step 2: Select the available option or record your voice, then tap the red + sign to add it to the second audio track.
Step 3: Tap this track to see various editing options such as determining audio duration. You can use this to sync audio and video. Tap the white marker to complete the editing.
After editing, you can download the video by tapping the Release icon at the top right. In the Export and Sharing window, select configuration, frame rate, and bitrate. As you make changes to these parameters, you will see the output file size changing accordingly. Tap Submit and press Share if you want to upload it to YouTube or share it in other ways.
